What's true?
You are born, you go to school, and you get taught certain subjects. Depending on your culture and life context, those teachings can differ a lot from one place to another. So what is the real objective truth? Then you grow up, maybe you go to university and major in a specific subject. You receive more teachings, but still, what counts as objective truth and what is just open to interpretation?
Will all the experts in a field actually agree on something? I remember when I was a kid in school, teachers would play this game where one student starts with a message and whispers it to the next. By the time it reached the tenth kid, the original message was completely distorted. That always stuck with me.
What I am getting at is this: if people study the same career, they still end up with different interpretations because of their personal divergences, different life situations, and the environments they live in. So where does the most legitimate source of truth actually come from?
If information travels from the most informed people, through many layers, down to the much less informed, how does that information end up materializing inside certain groups? You can have entire groups shaped by strong biases, like the Dunning-Kruger effect. This makes it seem like relatively there are few objective truths in the world. And that leads to a bigger point: the people closest to the original source, especially those with certain incentives, can shape the information that eventually reaches the masses and turn it into whatever serves them.
Math seems like the only universal truth. And yet, even experts sometimes differ.
